high heat and decided to devise a solution.

A device that reduced heat, but did not require extensive maintenance
itself, as a mechanic Merle knew that the last thing operators wanted was
a device that added maintenance headaches.
The big idea...
The solution Merle developed was a series of large louvers that used the
motion of the wheel to drive hot air out of the wheel cavity, cooling the
entire wheel end.
The future...
Lynnfin Truck Technologies is building on Merle's idea. With
extensive testing and engineering studies the redesigned DrumTurbines will
