As the above graph shows, hot brakes can almost double the distance required to stop a truck.  Though BrakeTurbines can not eliminate brake fade altogether they can reduce it by helping the brakes dissipate heat more quickly.  In an FMVSS-121 test (simulating the most extreme braking conditions) conducted by an independent testing lab, BrakeTurbines reduced stopping distance by up to 18%.
